Well hello! You will have probably given up on us by now - but we are still active, albeit not quite as prolific as we are during the winter.

Here in Pentrecagal I have been adding bits and pieces to the new Cardi-Bach layout that will eventually circle the inside walls of the Society Museum to give a better representation of the old line and the route that it took, highlighting each station.

I have now completed one side, finally finishing Llanglydwen and a couple of the connecting scenic strips.

I took these over to Login on Sunday, and Peter and I put them loosely together along the right hand wall, where I had already placed Whitland, Cardigan Junction, Llanfalteg and Login.

Here we have the set-up looking roughly how we expect it to finally be.

A closer shot shows Login going down to Whitland, and then the next picture is from Llanfalteg down through Cardigan Junction, where the Cardigan line joins the main line into Whitland.

Finally a shot of the line from the Junction on into Whitland. Only one of the main lines is shown, and just platforms 1 and 2 in Whitland. Purely representational ( I couldn't be arsed to do any more...)

All that's left to do is Cardigan, Cilgerran, and Boncath. The buildings have been made, but I'm thwarted by a lack on N gauge points - so if anyone has some - they don't have to work - I would be very grateful. (and you would get a shout on the Blog...)

While at Login, Peter showed me the latest edition to his Lynton and Barnstable layout - two Baldwin locomotives to join the collection, both versions of 'Lyn' - one in the early dark green and a later livery in Southern colours:

Straight out of the box, here is one of them going through a test run:

I just checked this, and I inserted the wrong video clip! too late in the evening to correct it - I'll ost the right one in the next post.

Back to the here and now... Last night we had a Chufferduffer meeting at Colins - nothing too strenuous - mainly watching video clips of steam fairs and fairground engines.

As you know Colin is a bit of a nut about steam traction engines, and he is building yet another one. A couple of weeks ago he showed Pat and I the basic start of the build:

With one of his completed ones to illustrate what he was aiming for. 

Since then he has added quite a bit more - I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. I've included a 'Bic' pen to give some idea of the scale that Colin is working at...

Note the hose pipe coiled up in the centre of the middle picture!

The brass cylinders are the electricity generators that were used by the showmen for powering the motors and lights on the fairground attractions.

Back on home ground at Pentrecagal, some of the more attentive of you may recall that several months ago I built an extension to the Teifi Gorge Layout, supposedly a station at Llechryd, and the tin-plate works that were there back in the nineteenth century. Using poetic license, we have it still operating in the early 1900's.

For those of you at the back who were not paying attention, here is a previously featured picture of that extension:

Over the last couple of days I worked on the join between the boards, and eventually achieved a smooth passage between the old and the new boards.

Here we have a quick video of the train passing between Kilgerran and Llechryd:
