Good evening everyone - into July now - we seemed to have skipped June altogether... We did have one meeting in June, but there was not a lot to report, so it gets condensed into this posting with other stuff that has gone on!

That meeting in June was held at Pat's, and he had dug out an old N guage layout that Colin had built for him, almost twenty years ago. Just a couple of shots of it - a rail-car and loco, and a close up of the station building, as usual done with Colins eye for detail:

Colin had brought along his latest narrow gauge build, and although 4mm scale, it didn't look too out of place on the layout.

Seen here coming out of the loco shed to be watered and coaled. The difference in scale becomes a bit obvious in this shot!:

Passing our Chairman Emyr's house the other day I popped in to take a couple of quick pictures of his restored Series 1 Landrover. The door in the picture still having the original paintwork and lettering from the early 1950's.

Deep in the Taf Valley work is progressing on Peter's Lynton and Barnstaple 009 layout, and last Sunday after I dropped off some of the new layout boards for the Museum, Pete gave me a quick rundown on the latest work he has done on the L & B.

The next job on the agenda will be applying the electrostatic grass - messy and time consuming!

Peter had also acquired a new version of  Lyd (190) in the lighter Southern green livery. Here it is straight out of the box, yet to have it's name plates added:

On the subject of the new layouts for the Cardi-Bach museum, the last few days have seen me busy constructing some of the linking sections that will join the various stations together. So far I have completed the Login-Llanglydwen link, and the Llanfalteg-login link:

The Llanfalteg to Login link will incorporate the Penclipin crossing and cottage (eventually...)

Tuesday had us meeting at Colin's house, and he had set up his loco test track, so Pat and I took along our stocks of 009 locomotives.

Together with Colin's, they made quite an impressive display!

We gave them all a test run around the loop, and they all ran very well!

I'll finish this post with a couple of very quick videos of some of the engines going through their paces.

We finished the evening in the time honoured fashion, after delicious bowls of Mariannes soup and pate, together with garlic bread (and a bottle...)
