No ChufferDuffer meeting this week, as we had a Cardi-Bach Society meeting last night, and we thought two evenings in one week was taking socialising too far.
So - a brief report on the C-B meeting. There will be a more fullsome report going out to members via e-mail later, but here below is a little taste of our meeting.
We had a good gathering of members, with a head count of eleven, which is good for our meetings!
Picture below of members around the table, as it were:
To the left hand side of the picture is our latest member, Michael. We can only hope he found the evening entertaining, if not bewildering!
Empty platters at the end of the table bear witness to the popularity of Dawns chiabatta pizzas...
Derek brought along a map showing the water course that supplied Glogue tower and tank. We did have an evenings walk last month to locate it, but some members got lost, and only Roy, Derek and Roger actually found it, the rest of us wandering round in ever increasing circles...
Derek explaining to Roy the route they took:
To end the evening we had a couple of slide shows of stations and engines on the Cardi-Bach line, taken over a wide spread of years, some pictures several of us had not seen before.
Roy providing a very knowledgeable commentary, and Thomas expertly operating the slide show.
Next meeting will coincide with the Login Festival, July 6th and 7th - hope you can make it!
And if you would like to join our little Society, please talk to one of us at the Festival - you would be more than welcome.
To end with, a little bit of Chuffer modelling news - I went over to Llangadog to visit Mike, our distant member on Tuesday, when he and his wife Judith were kind enough to share their evening meal with me. Mike showed me the progress that he has made on the mega-layout - you may remember it from a previous post:
This is the state of play at the present moment, photo taken from a similar position:
Mike assures me we will have it up and running without any problems, as soon as we can all get over there to assist...!
Thank you all for visiting,
Shaun.
