Good evening everyone. Almost a week behind with this ChufferDuffer edition - behind because I seem to have been extra busy this past week, and come evening time it's a glass of wine and collapse in front of Netflix...
Anyroad. Pats last Tuesday, and he showed us the progress thats been made on the Railway Hearse.
You may recall we showed you the start in the previous post.
Here is where Pat is up to at the moment:
As you can see, the roof support struts are in place, and the rear doors hinged and the start of door fastenings are being fabricated.
In the next picture we are looking into the inside, with the coffin rollers in place, but yet to be painted.
The hearse will take its place on the 'Maes Y Gof' 7mm NG layout initially, as we still haven't got around to building a new one!
Just to remind you, here are a few random pictures of the Gorsaf:
I mentioned at the start of this post that I had a busy week - two of those days were taken up with the West Wales Modellers exhibition at Drefach Felindre Woolen Mill, where we were invited to show our old faithfull, 'Teifi Gorge Railway'
This was our fifth year at the woolen mill! Pat and I set up on Thursday, and Colin did duty with Pat on Friday, as I had a prior engagement (hosp.) Our good friend Mike turned up on Thursday to wish us well.
Two stress free days, with everything performing faultlessly, in particular Colins electric Turntables!
Couple of pics of 'The Gorge' catching the early sun:
Couple of impressive models spotted at the exhibition:
All hand-built from scratch, and operational, apart from the bottom right steam driver, which was in 'bits'.
An excellent show, though the foot-fall was down on previous years. We still enjoyed ourselves though!
Here in Llechryd tomorrow night - report to follow (sometime...)
Diolch,
Shaun.
