Good evening to all our followers (both of you).
Once again a mixed bag of Duffers activity and Cardi-Bach stuff.
To kick off, the Chufferduffers met here at Llechryd last Tuesday, when we put the Teifi Gorge together and checked that the new turntable did the biz... Which to our great relief it did, impeccably!
No pictures of it - we'll save that for it's next outing at the Woolen Mill on July 26/27.

What we do have pictures of are a railway hearse(!) that Pat is making in 7mm NG.
based on the Ffestiniog van, shown below:

This is the start of Pats version:

This is in it's very early stages, but knowing Pats productivity rate, in a week or two will we be showing you the finished wagon!

On to Cardi-Bach...

As you may or may not be aware, this past weekend has seen the 2019 Login Extravaganza, this year with an extended marquee, and the addition of the C-B Heritage collection, in its own building.
We had a great time over the two days showing off the layouts and talking about the history of the old Whitland to Cardigan Railway.
Everything in the collection generated loads of interest and questions, and the running layouts, Cardigan and Boncath proved quite a magnet for both young and old.
Thomas was a great asset on Saturday spending nearly all his time operating Cardigan, ably assisted by Colin and Pat:

An interesting artefact was donated on Saturday by an ex member of the railway - a most unusual rail chair - we have yet to determine what section of rail/line it was used for; possibly some part of a point working? It's most unlike any chair that we have seen so far.

Seen here in front of a signal post finial and a railway lamp.

Large crowds were in attendance on both days with the weather holding fair for the whole weekend.

So fair in fact that both Pat and Emyr were able to bring their open topped sports car to show off to appreciative punters

Thanks must go to Peter and Dawn for hosting the event, which was free to all, including lots of stall holders - admission being by way donation.
Refreshments were available, both outside and in the tearoom, served by a bevy of most obliging ladies.
And finally on behalf of the ChufferDuffers, we heartily commend to the house Dawns new addition to the menu of Fresh Fruit Muffins . Try them next time you visit!

Hwyl fawr,

the Chuffers.

  1. I've already notified MrsJ of the intention to bring the caravan over from Suffolk for next years event. Looking forward to seeing these layouts in the flesh.
